Introduction to radiation multi-scale effects and application groups

The Radiation Multiscale Effect and Application Group is affiliated to the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In recent years, it has been aiming at international frontier and difficult issues in the intersection of radiation chemistry, materials and biology. The main research directions include transient DNA free radical damage biology and low-energy electron anti-cancer technology, CO2 reduction technology based on excited free radicals, and radiation chemical effects of nuclear accident-tolerant materials.

The team leader is Professor Ma Jun, a doctoral tutor, and the fifteenth batch of overseas high-level talents. Currently, he is responsible for many national and provincial projects, and is important in Nature Communications, Science Advances, Physical Review Letters, and Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters. The journal publishes many academic papers. In addition, the team has established long-term cooperative relationships with overseas academic institutions such as the University of Paris, the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, the University of Tokyo, and the Kyoto University, providing opportunities for further study of team members.
